Cecelia’s Marketplace was established by both Dr. Mara Matison and Mr. Dainis Matison in 2006, soon after Mara was diagnosed with celiac disease. The couple struggled with Mara’s huge lifestyle change, which included adhering to a strict gluten-free diet. Shopping trips to the grocery store were very frustrating. Spending time calling food manufacturers to find out if products were gluten-free seemed like a daily routine. They knew there had to be an easier way, so they decided to compile a gluten-free grocery shopping guide. Since then, Mara has been also diagnosed with a casein and soy intolerance, which brought about the need for the Gluten/Casein-Free Grocery Shopping Guide and the Gluten/Casein/Soy-Free Shopping Guide. Thanks to Cecelia's Marketplace Gluten-Free Grocery Shopping Guide, grocery shopping now has become easier for not only for the authors, but also their families, friends and thousands of gluten-free shoppers nationwide. Dr. Mara Matison received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Detroit Mercy, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Villanova University. Her husband and co-author, Dainis Matison, received his Master of Science degree in Information Technology and Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Ball State University. They are both members of Celiac Disease Foundation, Celiac Sprue Association, Gluten Intolerance Group, and Talk About Curing Autism. These are nationwide organizations that support people with celiac disease, food intolerances, food sensitivities, and autism.

Celiac.com Review 5.0 out of 5 stars by Trena Merritt Thursday 26 June, 2008 An excellent help in the jungle of the grocery aisles. Once you are used to the way things are organized in the book, it's a snap to use. The addition of the Wal-mart brand (Great Value) is good, because many people live near Wal-mart stores. We have used the book already, and it's a great help! Show it to your friends and family when they ask questions.
Amazon.com Review 5.0 out of 5 stars It's a savior! By Mom of 3 (MA United States) November 23, 2008 This book is excellent. When I found out my daughter had Celiac Disease, I was so overwhelmed. Going into the grocery store made me feel like crying. It seems like everything has gluten in it and I was so afraid to make a mistake when reading the labels.

Celiac.com Review 5.0 out of 5 stars by Tricia Hooper Monday 14 January, 2008 I am a new celiac and I didnt have any idea what to buy. I got this book hopeing they sold stuff in my area, suprisingly it has tons of stuff that I already eat and that I like. I can buy mostly everything at wal-mart. I'm very glad I have this book! I would recommend anyone who needs to eat gluten free to get it, otherwise it would be quite difficult to shop.
