The Gluten Free Shopping Bible, November 27, 2007
By Scott T. Spence "Mr. Entertainment" (Kennewick, WA U.S.A.)
This is the gluten free shopper's bible! It lists thousands of foods by name brand and by major chain name. I have yet to find even one food listed in this book that does contain gluten. It is a simple process - if this book doesn't list a certain brand of a particular food, avoid that brand of food.
I use this book before shopping to make out my shopping list. It eliminates reading dozens of boxes of food to determine if the food contains gluten.
If you are on a gluten free diet, I couldn't recommend any book other than this. There is nothing better.

Good reference but....., January 23, 2008
By Ann Stone (Salt Lake City)
This is a good reference book but be aware manufacturers change their recipes! For instance, this guide says select Malt O' Meal cereals are gulten free, but a few they mention are not! I don't know if it is due to manufacture change or not, but non the less, always, always, double check to make sure a product is for sure gluten free before buying something either out of this book or by word of mouth!

I bought this guide a few months ago, and it's already dog eared and bent up from all the use I get out of it. Before I got it, I shopped the outside aisles of the grocery store, because I didn't trust anything I didn't make myself. Now, I am surprised to learn there are all sorts of things that are Gluten Free, that I can have. I just bought a store bought Classico brand spaghetti sauce because the book said they were safe. I keep it in my reusable grocery bags, and take it with me whenever I go grocery shopping. My shopping style has been completely changed by this book.

This book is absolutly great. I marked all the food I like with differnt markers. So I know right away, that all pink marked food is trader joe's or all yellow marked food is stop and shop..... so it is really easy to find whatever you need!! It is the best book ever!!

this book is a life saver!! Gluten free food is expensive and I am not rich. Its nice to know what is out there in the grocery store that I can eat so I don't have to buy all my food online or at a store 2 hours away from my house. And I don't have to read every detail of every label either. If you are on a gluten free diet this book is a must have.

This is the best purchase I have ever made. I was diagnosed with celiac disease in December and this book has helped me so much. I don't leave the house without it. In fact I had purchased a similar book but it does not compare. Plus this book gives you updates through this website so you are always up to date. I will definitely be purchasing newer editiions. Keep up the good work. Now I wish they would come out with a book on vitamins, cosmetics, personal care, etc. Wishful thinking.

I am a new celiac and I didnt have any idea what to buy. I got this book hopeing they sold stuff in my area, suprisingly it has tons of stuff that I already eat and that I like. I can buy mostly everything at wal-mart. I'm very glad I have this book! I would recommend anyone who needs to eat gluten free to get it, otherwise it would be quite difficult to shop.

A nice book to have when you go shopping! I love it! I know that manufacturers do change ingredients without notice, but the biggest portion of the book is still very helpful. This book is especially for family or friends who want to make or get something for you, but are scared to do so. It can head them in the right direction.

This is a life-saver -- an absolute must-have for any Celiac! The lists make my choices easier and it is more cost efficient to buy "normal" products than those specifically labeled Gluten-Free.

This book was great. It was such an encouragement to read it and see all kinds of grocery items that you can buy at any grocery store. The prospect of eating gluten free was at first overwhelming but a book like this is a real help because it really emphasizes all the things you can eat! Very easy to use.

I just love this book! I'm so glad my husband surprised me with it. It used to take me forever to do my grocery shopping because of all the time reading ingredients on every item and it takes the guesswork out of the ones I wasn't sure about (Modified food starch, artificial and natural flavors, etc???) I also don't have to spend as much now, because this book has the regular national brand names that you can find in your every day gorcery store, so it also keeps me from having to drive 45 minutes to get to the nearest health food market. - Lisa Simmons

I love this book and take it grocery shopping every time. Helped me find a lot of things that I would have never bought, like soups. Only problem is that there are alot of companies in it that I am not familiar with in the South, but the overall big brands are in there. Love it!

This shopping guide has helped us eliminate guesswork in the store and is especially invaluable when traveling and shopping in an unfamiliar store environment. I am planning to give this guide to the family members who would like to feed us when we visit, but really don't know what to be looking for.

I took this book with me to the grocery store for the first time today. I really don't like anything to slow me down but this was easier than searching the labels even with the extra couple of minutes it took to look something up! i LOVE THIS BOOK! I wish this had been available a year ago when I was diagnosed. Thank you for this guide!
